Teen visits, mouthguards and braces referrals
A teen visit is a checkup and cleaning, with the conversation aimed at the teen.
Dr. Chandran talks to the teen first, and a parent joins when the teen invites them. We also cover mouthguards, braces referrals and the brushing habits that slip at this age.

What happens
- 01
Step 1: The teen goes first
Dr. Chandran asks your teen what they want to know, and whether they want a parent in the room.
- 02
Step 2: A checkup and cleaning
The hygienist cleans the teeth and Dr. Chandran looks at teeth, gums and bite.
- 03
Step 3: A talk
Mouthguards for sports, braces, sugary drinks and brushing habits, in plain words.
- 04
Step 4: A plan
She tells the teen and you what she saw and when to come back.
Comfort, waiting and after-care
Comfort
A raised hand means stop. The teen decides whether a parent comes in.
Braces and wisdom teeth
We do not straighten teeth here. If braces or aligners would help, Dr. Chandran refers your teen to an orthodontist. If X-rays show wisdom teeth coming in at an angle, she refers to a dentist who removes them.
Risks and after-care
A mouthguard made for your teen fits better than a store one, and Dr. Chandran explains the choices. She tells you what to watch for after a cleaning.
How it is billed
Teen visits are billed to your plan if you have one, or quoted in writing first.
How fees work
